My name is Ashley Mebane (formally Rivas) and this will be my 1st year teaching in the Etiwanda School District. This will be my second year teaching, as I taught high school Special Education in another local district. I graduated from the University of La Verne with a Bachelors degree in Educational Studies, and a Mild/Moderate Education Specialist Credential. I have received my Masters in Inclusive Education. Prior to becoming a teacher, I worked as an Instructional Aide in the Chaffey Joint Union School District for eight years. When I am not working, I enjoy spending time with my husband and loved ones, trying new food, and traveling when I have the opportunity. I believe in open parent-teacher communication as it is very important to me. As Special Education does take a village, I personally know as my brother was student in this district who has an IEP. The goal for my classroom is to create a positive, safe, and welcoming environment for my students to develop in their educational journey.
